Too bad Bush elder didn't kick the crap out of him.  Then Bush Junior might have understood what pain is and  refrained from inflicting it on  others.    As it is, Bush feels an entitlement to sending young men into a situation he was careful to avoid.

"Down"  in Texas the frog thing is probably just an example of "boys being boys".    After all, iTexas is  shootin and wrassling country

Thanks Refiguy for reminding me of what a troll I was.  Why didn't you learn from my example and act accordingly.

I have learned from the ugliness I've seen displayed in the last year.

It's not anything I want to copy.  And as for my own short comings,  which I'm sure you were thrilled to find, I apologize to Sarah Palin, George Bush. and others.  I didn't understand that ugliness leads to more ugliness until we are all affected.

This discord is a national disgrace.  It's a disease.  It will eventually bring down America.

Who was it that said that America didn't need to be invaded to be conquered.  That she would bring herself down!

BTW  I've been tempted many times to delete that blog about Bush being mentally ill.  But I didn't because I don't believe in censhorship. It was tempting thought  to do it to improve my image and forestall any future reference (such as todays).

Audrey, you don't need to explain to Refi or anyone else. Your blogs/posts are some of the sanest things to be found in this place. As I have said before; we'd better learn to come together for the common good or we are going be finished.

Abject hatred for the President of the United States is foolish and a disgrace.

You got that right.  When a majority of Americans think the government and other people should take care of their personal needs, this country is over.

I will question the President or anyone else in charge......if it seems ugly it is more measured by what side your on...... I am a Yankee fan and when a call goes my way ....wow the umpire was right yet the are just as many people calling the ump all kinds of names ......

But, the point you made was that everyone on this blog BUT you were being despicable ...and YOU were not.....there are many comments you have made toward Sarah, John and the Bushes .....that were quite low.....deleting them would only make you more of a Hypocrite ......

Pogo your righteousness comes conveniently when Obama is President ...where was your support to not to mock the President when George was in office.....

I am sorry though for screwing up the formatting of this blog ...I dont know how it happened

Audrey... I'm right ther with you.  This website has seriously depleted my hope and trust in mankind.  But... what can you do.  I assure you that not everyone has this same sort of mentality.  You are, of course, living in the tail end of the bible belt and this is nothing but republican land.  If the election had gone off of just kern county McCain would have won.  So... Just look at who your audience is and dont' frett.

Look I'm not living in the Obama camp but I'm not against him either.  I look at what little he has done, in the MONTHS he's been in office and I say "okay."  How do you expect a man to change things in just a few months, after being sworn in as president, that took years to build up and collapse.  The economy we are in was caused with over spending on things we couldn't afford.  My mom is a republican and we don't see eye to eye easily.  But she stated, and I agree, that Bush knew about this problem (which i believe many here would agree) and didn't bring it to anyones attention until the mess could be passed from his hands.  Just my political take.  But... i'm all sunshine and rainbows when it comes to the stuff.

posted by defyinggravity on Nov 6, 2009 at 10:07 AM

well refi.  All the republicans and people alike were calling for everyone to respect the president then.  But where are those people now?

posted by pogo on Nov 6, 2009 at 10:10 AM

Refi, this isn't the first time you've screwed up the format of a blog, nice of you to apologize though.

I was in full support of President Bush until he invaded Iraq. Then he lost me. That fiasco will rank with the all time blunders of this country and will cost him and his administration in the history books. We should be apologizing everyday for that one.

posted by AudreyB on Nov 6, 2009 at 10:13 AM

Refi

Why are the margins blown on this blog. Did you save my post about Bush on Word Perfect and then recopy it here?  Is that why you were able to find it so quickly?

If you are the kind of person who saves this stuff, I'm not sure what to think about you.  Why would you want to spring this on me when I'm clearly at a low ebb?  Why?

posted by AudreyB on Nov 6, 2009 at 10:14 AM

Also, I don't regret anything I said about Sarah Palin.  She was clearly underqualified.

So the solution by Obama is to increase spending by FOUR FOLD?????

defy your right

but they didn't...so now we won't ..........why is there a problem ??????

and Pogo the war to the best of my knowledge was entered into by the advice of Col. Powell, and many other who advised him ......

Just like those people who advised Obama into spending 7 trillion dollars on our economy ......which he will co in the history books for and should apologize every day to every taxpayer ....while all those banking execs Fannie and Freddie Mae AIG .....keep making money hand over fist......on the backs of taxpayers

Thanks guys for seeing me through this mini meltdown.  I'm OK now.

More than anything I'm sad.  I realized this morning that I don't respect some these people anymore.  That suddenly got to me, overwhelmed me.

Especially the ones I've counted as friends for a long time.

Sarah Palin won't even make the cut to run in the 2012 primaries, Refiguy.   We aren't that lucky.  Your side will put up some plausible sacrificial lamb candidate again like they did in 2008.

You don't have a cardboard cutout of her you could bet on the outcome, do you?  :)

Rick Santorum will never overcome his "name recognition."

Don't google "santorum."  Just don't.

A Santorum/Palin ticket, even on a third-party "all the wackos in one basket" run, would be manna from nonexistent heaven.

As for Obama, Pax, you seem overly concerned with his skin.  Is there some other objection to his skin you have?

Audrey, I too have had my moments of anger and have lashed out. What I'm trying to work on now is who will I just ignore and who will I engage with. BTW, I agree about Ron, I've tried with him, but it ends badly.

I see where Sam Heath chimed in this morning on someone else's blog, then retreated to his hole in the ground.

AudreyB - > Bakersfield Boomers -> If a Republican Becomes President in 2012
If a Republican Becomes President in 2012

I'm making a pledge to myself that I won't behave to him (or her) in the manner in which Obama has been treated by the far right since he's been elected.

I promise that I will never stoop that low.

The president is the leader of our country.  He was elected by a majority of the people.  Out of respect for that majority decision I wouldn't try to derail the president based on silly innuendos.

Because I respect this country and its freedoms, I won't distract the future president from doing the job that he was elected to do by spreading malicious lies.

I'm better than that!

Have you really looked at your own behavior?  Do you care that you're spreading this filth about a man who's doing his best (regardless of whether YOU agree with it).

For the first time, I'm really questioning your characters.

Audrey, I am with you 100%, I am sick of the whole mess. I have tried being civil and understanding, but some of the crap these people post is beyond tolerating.

My theory on this is that they see they are losing the battle to our best hope of turning this country around, and are in a panic mode, attacking anyway they can. Witnees the Neanderthals in DC yesterday.

They are finished but are too dumb to know it.

here is a small sample of some of your comments

and might I say you were just as pathetic with your statements on Sarah Palin and John McCain....

I just dont have time to go back thru them all and cut and paste .....

so please get off your soap box

The Act of 1977 allowed those on Social Security disability to do a limited amount of work.  It also set up rehab programs to enable the disabled to find work.

George Walker Bush set up a Social Security Commission on May 2, 2001.  He declared that he would make social security his top priority.

To date, George Walker Bush has accomplished nada on Social Security.  (This last statment wasn't on the official Social Security Website.  I just tossed it in on my own).

here one of your topics in Nov 07
