Spend the $1.5 million gang funds on birth control!
Why waste money on these types of programs? These people would be better of not continuing their cycle of crime and broken families! Spend the $1.5 million on a free birth control program. We have a better chance of eliminating the gang problem this way!

Logical, but howls of "racism" would follow.

I see nothing racist about birth control.

Sadly, you are probably correct (that this will be labeled racist). Why waste tax dollars on an unsolvable issue? This is just like the issues in the middle east - there is no answer, yet we waste billions...bigger government is never the answer.

How about a tax rebate for those parents whose children do well in school and are not involved in gangs? And a tax on all parents whose children graffiti walls and do poorly in school - that way they can pay for these programs? posted by

Gangs make too much money and give too many people a sense of power to end. Enforcement will continue to be a necessary tool. posted by
