Two Valley towns with failed condo projects

Looks like we have some friends in Sacramento. Yes, their project is much nicer, but it appears it will meet the same fate as ours. See my blog for the rest of the story:

Have you done any research on Ashok Israni? He and his family run business buy apartments all over the world, then convert them to condos. He is constantly in litigation and you cannot even email Pacifica. He is a slumlord of the first order. To get a better idea of this guy, go to this website....  http://www.jerrymarlow.com/...

The City of Bakersfield needs to do a little research before they get in bed with people.

I have not, but thanks for the tip!

I think most of our city leaders are so eager for progress they will climb in bed with anyone with a marginal idea - Morelands 80's mall idea, The Canals project in the 90's near Panama Lane, etc...

I've got to say Bub, (can I call  you Bub) I don't find your posts garbage.  All you have to do is look at the number of houses on the market and the length of time it takes to sell to know the market has slowed tremendously.  Those denying it are the ones with the most to loose.

Thanks dgrealish and Bub is fine!

I deleted his rude comment.

90% of what I post is from Business articles. Its not even my junk. Maybe he/she meant the 10% that is my original content. That is marginal at best - LOL

Anti, you need to realize that when developers come to the city (or county) with a development project, absolutely no research is done into their past projects. The developer has a plan, and the city looks at it, and (supposedly) on it's merits approves or denies it. There's actually very little "planning" done at the planning department. All they do is review developer's plans, not make their own. It's up to the citizens to do the research into the developer's backgrounds and inform the city council about it. There's just some stuff the government agencies cannot (by law) do, and background checks into developers is one of them.....

You post numerous articles and references to the NATIONAL real estate market. Very little (maybe your 10%) relates to the local market.

That was my only point.... but you deleted it.

You obviously can't handle relevant criticism,.... Too bad.

For every Gary Crabtree article published there is an appraiser that can contradict his numbers. Too bad the Californian only uses Crabtree for their sources...

You stated 95% of what I post is a total joke!

Is that "relevant criticism" or just a personal attack? If you disagree don't kill the messenger, kill the message.

Are you a realtor?
