I'd like to offer a 200 word rebuttal for each submission to tell parents why their child is *NOT* cute.

Better prepare a quick exit out of town.

Did you see some of those kids?  I'm sorry, but some of them are not cute.  Every parent thinks that their kid is the smartest and cutest kid in the world, but it's simply not true.

Are you the Grinch's evil twin?  Those kids are adorable.

My grandkids are cuter!

Oh lord ~ i guess the Grinch has another terrible twin.   DONT HATE ME

OK first, let me say two things.

1) I dont believe in 'beauty' contests. Bad ~ Period. Unhealthy.

2) ALL kids are beautiful, because they are innocent, and full of wonder and hope.

BUT ~ since this is supposed to be a Cutest Kid Contest...I am really sorry. I counted about 18 actually good-looking children in that entire mix.

My final vote would go to Faith Cheatwood. Are we allowed to vote? LOL

Some of the pictures entered were worthless, looked like a quick snap of a cell phone e-mailed in.

I'm not the Grinch's evil twin.  I just don't find kids to be as cute as other people do.

NoNo, this is the  winner.

Aww.... he's adorable!

I have to agree with djembe. I've have heard parents say the same thing about there kids. Not all are cute and perfect. The contest pics where ok. I don't want to sound cruel but some weren't that good...... Just only some! I do like Lana's though. If that is your kid, you should enter the contest.

posted by NancyII on Oct 8, 2009 at 05:50 AM

Lana, your snookums is a doll too.  Do you have a bigger picture?

While not all babies look like the Gerber baby they're all adorable.  Well, except for the one screaming and kicking at the checkout.  LOL.

The kids entered one like this in the fair..with the ladybug on HIS finger.  The one on my avatar is one of my favorites of my other little guy even tho you can't see his face...it's just the wonder of a child that fascinates me.  It was his first trip to the ocean. Things we take for granted now that we're older and have seen it all, is a miracle to them.  The avatar is Cassies toddler.   The ladybug one is my grandsons baby.

I like your point Nancy, as always you've made a valid one. I just don't like spoil kids who wine and wine for nothing that's all, but I adore my nieces and nephews who are beautiful as well. I'll try and download a pic of my beautiful nieces when i have the chance on my profile on another day. I should tell there mom to have them enter the contest as well.

animalluvr.....That is my 1 yr old Grandson Kaden.   I do have a bigger picture but I can't figure out how to put it on here like you did Nancy!

Here's my version of your picture, Nancy. This was taken when my daughter was just shy of 3. I've always wondered what she was thinking as she looked out on the ocean.

Reyna, that is a BEAUTIFUL picture!  And you're right in wondering what she's thinking...if only they could tell us.

Thanks Nancy. My father-in-law took this picture last year when we were vacationing in Monterrey. I made it black and white because I thought it gave it more depth. Even though you can't really see her face, it is one of my favorite pictures of her.

posted by NancyII on Oct 8, 2009 at 09:34 AM

Reyna, black and white is always more striking.  Last year grandson tto a picture of an old abandoned gas station and cafe at Ludlow on Rt 66.  He made it black and white for the effect and it took a first place at the fair this year.

You don't always have to have the face for it to be a very intense photo.

This is my new avatar of my niece, her name is gracelyn and she is 4 yrs old. I have another niece that's just as cute, her name is Joshlyn named after her dad Josh, and she is 3 yrs old and she is on my profile pics.

Nancy I'm guessing that cute kid on the horse is your grandson. How do you put big pictures like that on here. Cute pic by the way! Looks like he's ready for the beach. Are you going to enter him in the contest.

This exploitation of kids is a little wierd!  Especially, the sexy poses.  Kids should enjoy their childhoods, NOT worry about whether they are beautiful or not.  Being judged on 'beauty' is not healthy.  It is not much different from all of the ridiculous beauty pageants/contests where these little kids are paraded around like livestock at the fair.

posted by animalluvr on Oct 8, 2009 at 08:25 PM

I disagree kbabe. I don't think little kids are even worried if there beautiful or not its called natural beauty. Anyway how is being judge on beauty not healthy. I don't think that make any sense. Can you be more specific on why its so horrible for little kids to pose and show the world beauty, inside and out. Why does that bother you.

posted by lanabuford on Oct 8, 2009 at 09:15 PM

Animalluvr....She is so pretty!   I don't believe that my Grandson is posing sexy  kbabe....LOL !  Beauty pagents where the little girls wear all the makeup and the $7,000.00 dresses are disgusting to me!  But a cutest baby contest like this one are decent.

posted by dreamifucan on Oct 8, 2009 at 11:09 PM

No, no, NO!!!  The baby on the rocking horse is MY grandson

:-))

My avatar is my daughter (his Aunt) holding him when he crashed after a loooong day at Disneyland.

Sorry, just had to jump in and brag a little too.  Can't let mom take all the credit

posted by NancyII on Oct 8, 2009 at 11:22 PM

Dreamifucan is right.  The dark haired guy at the beach is my sons grandson and the fairhaired one is my daughter Debs grandson.

Both are my GG-sons.  They get their good looks gene from their Great Nana.  ;-)
