Bakersfield Police Department Press release: On 7/2/09, Burglary Detectives received information that Crook was having his car repaired at the 24th Street Auto Service and Repair Business located at 1230 24th Street. Detectives set up surveillance at that location and when Crook returned to pick up his vehicle at 1332 hours, he was arrested without incident. A man arrested in a domestic violence case early Thursday morning suddenly stopped breathing after being Tasered and bit by a sheriff's dog, deputies reported. Handcuffs were removed from the man, and attempts were made to save his life, but he died a short time later at Kern Medical Center, deputies said. On 4/24/09, a burglary occurred to the Halliburton offices at the Stockdale Towers, 5060 California Avenue, Suite #300 (BPD Case #09-94202).  Through the investigation the suspect responsible was identified as:   Jerry Ray Crook AKA David William Jacobson WM 49  5'11” 135 lbs., short brown hair, blue eyes.   A felony warrant for burglary now exists for the arrest of Crook, under the alias of David Jacobson.     On 7/01/09 a similar...
