On 2/7/10, at about 9:00 p.m., homicide detectives arrested Blayne Allen Clifford
19, for the murder of Patrick Shige Matsuda 40, in the 4300 block of Whitegate
Avenue. Investigation revealed that on 2/7/10, at about 2:20 a.m., Matsuda, who
resided at 4310 Whitegate Avenue, approached a male and a female in the front
yard of 4315 Whitegate Avenue where a party was taking place. Matsuda

Kern County Sheriff's Department news release:
On 2-8-2010, at 0945 hours, the Sheriff’s Civil Section served an eviction at 624 Elm Trail in Frazier Park. The eviction was the result of a bank foreclosure. The Sheriff’s Office had prior knowledge that the resident had a large number of animals in the residence. As a result, Animal Control and Code Compliance were asked to assist.

There has been one arrest thus far in the Whitegate homicide. Detectives arrested Blayne Allen Clifford 19, last night. He was booked into the Kern County Jail early this morning. Detectives are still looking for an additional suspect whom was armed with a bat as well as determining other possible suspects' involvement.
Shafter Ca.- Sunday February 7th 2010 at approximately 4:53p.m. a call was
received by the Kern County Fire Department for a house fire in the 400
block of Beech avenue in east Shafter.
Upon arrival fire crews were faced
with a two story new construction structure that was attached to a home, the

On Sunday, at approximately 1642 hours, deputies from the Taft substation were dispatched to a victim of a shooting at 216 Jefferson St., in Taft. Deputies arrived and found a 46 year old white male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to KMC where he eventuallly died as a result of his injuries.
