On 11/5/09, Bakersfield Police conducted a warrant sweep in an effort to locate
17 outstanding warrant suspects; one suspect for attempted murder, and the
remainder for assault with a deadly weapon. 22 officers and detectives began
this morning and were able to locate 8 out of the 17.

A Bakersfield man was convicted Wednesday of beating a 90-year-old grandmother to death with a baseball bat in 2007.
Timothy Titus Rodriguez, 41, now faces a possible death penalty.
Rodriguez and his fiancee at the time Chenoa Martinez worked in the victim’s northeast Bakersfield home doing odd jobs in mid-2007.
Ninety-year-old Thelma Long was found dead on May 2 and her daughter Cathryn Reeves had also been severely beaten.
