Suspects arrested for robbery at Panorama Bluffs

On 3/30/08, at approximately 12:40 a.m., an armed robbery to a person occurred near the bike path in the 300 block of Panorama Drive.

The victims, a 20 year old male and 18 year old female, were sitting together at a bench along the Panorama Bluffs. Six hispanic males, one armed with a firearm and one armed with a knife, approached the victims, robbed them of personal property and fled.  The victims were not injured.

An investigation into the incident by members of the Bakersfield Police Special Enforcement Unit led to the arrest of 3 suspects in connection with this robbery.

All three suspects were arrested on 3/30/08 at residences in Arvin where they reside.

Officers arrested:
Juan Carlos Toledo (18), and a 17 year old male juvenile at a residence in the 200 block of Walnut Drive at 11:00 a.m. A third suspect:
Isidro Chilo Torres (19), was arrested at about 2:10 p.m. at a residence in the 200 blk of Wooner Drive.

All three suspects were arrested for robbery, conspiracy, receiving stolen property and gang participation. An airgun, similar in appearance to a real firearm, believed to be  used in the robbery was recovered.

A fourth suspect, along with the suspect vehicle, from the robbery are still outstanding. The outstanding suspect is described only as a:

Hispanic male, driving a 90’s, green, possible Nissan Altima, 4 door.

All of the victims’ property was recovered.

The investigation is continuing.
