 I am sending this e-mail as an update on information regarding Petty
 Officer 1st Class Morton. I'm hoping that it will also help to clarify
 some discrepancies that have appeared in news reports...
 
 In your last e-mail to me, you asked me to confirm that NC1 Morton was
 from Bakersfield. It appears that although she was born in Rockford,
 Illinois and graduated high school there, she later claimed her "home
 town" as Bakersfield, California, as that is where she initially
 enlisted in the Navy and later re-enlisted.
 
 Also, I just received word that her funeral will be held May 3 in
 Rockford, Ill.
 
 As for any information regarding the cause of her death, the
 investigation is ongoing; therefore, I have no information to report at         ;                 & nbsp;   this time.
