Austrian man to get 15 years for a lifetime of abuse?
Apparently the Austrian man who imprisoned his daughter for 24 years, raped her repeatedly and fathered seven children with her could face just 15 years in prison thanks to Europe's more relaxed attitude towards crime and punishment. Now the Austrian guy is in his 70s, so that's probably a life sentence. But still, 15 years?! That's less than the twisted prison sentence he handed down to his daughter and some of those kids. I know folks complain a bit about our justice system, but right now I wish this guy was facing those charges here in Kern County. This is one of the most disturbing stories I've read in years. What hope is there that this family can find some peace in the future? The abuser is so old that it's doubtful he'll ever live to see one day of punishment. posted by

More likely a mainstream Christian church which considers the Old Testament to be the more important of the two. Remember Lot and his daughters? And possibly Noah? posted by
