Details:
On Friday, May 9th at approximately 8:43 PM, Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of shots being
fired in the 800 block of Lomita Dr. in Bakersfield. Deputies arrived and found a Hispanic Male in front of 826
Lomita suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Kern Medical Center where he died a short
time later. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the victim was confronted at the
residence by a Hispanic male, approximately 30 - 35 years old who was driving a red or burgandy Ford
4-door compact car with paper plates. The suspect confronted the victim, fired several rounds at him with
a handgun, then fled in his vehicle southbound on Lomita. No other suspects were seen. No arrests have
been made. If you have any information regarding this case, please call the Kern County Sheriff's Office at
861-3110. The investigation is continuing.
