A table in the sky
No, rooftop dining is not available at 1415 18th St. in downtown Bakersfield. A chair, table, and plant were visible on the building's rooftop Tuesday morning from The Californian's Eye Street offices and staffers on the Breaking News Team immediately became curious about what the setup was doing there. A reporter couldn't reach the roof (the stairs led to the seventh floor, but the door to the roof was locked), but a parking garage employee gave him the scoop. A friend of the building's owner apparently wanted to rest up there for a while (not sure exactly why) and forgot to remove the furniture when he left. By the time the reporter returned to Eye Street, the parking garage employee could be seen removing the items from the roof, thereby preventing confusion from any other residents wondering why there was a table in the sky. 3 comments from 3 users

Building rooftops is a great place to find solitude and isolation from the rat race in a city. posted by

Ahhhh, building rooftops...well, peeps, there is more than just a restaurant in the sky going on in Bakoland... Check out this blog that was done on Bakotopia last year. http://www.bakotopia.com/ho... So, there is more than just solitude and isolation (thank goodness not in this case, lol) going on this town.
