Two arrested for fight

Synopsis: Gang Suppression Section makes arrests for Assault w/a Deadly Weapon, Attempted Robbery and Participating in Criminal Street Gang

Details:

This morning, at approx. 0945hrs., members of the Gang Suppression Section (GSS) were in the area of  Ming Ave and So. 'P' St, when they were contacted by a passing citizen of a fight occurring at Ming Ave and So P St. Gang Investigators were just east of that intersection, when they were contacted.

When GSS investigators arrived, they saw two subjects on top of a third subject striking him, the third subject, in the body with hands and feet. Investigators immediately stopped the altercation and separated all parties involved.

After conducting an investigation into the incident, investigators arrested; Juan Jose Gomez, 20, of Bakersfield, for Assault with a deadly Weapon, Robbery, and Participating in a Criminal Street Gang. and Francisco Izarraras, 35, also of Bakersfield, for Assault with a deadly Weapon and Felony Battery w/ great bodily injury.

During the assault, Gomez is alleged to have attempted to take a bicycle from the victim.
Both were booked into the Central Receiving Facility.

At 9:45am, these hoodlums should have been at work.  But considering they are gansters I guess that is their job.  I'd like to know, was the victim just a random by-passers or what?
