Synopsis: Assault with a deadly weapon on Smith Street
Details: This is a news release of the Kern County Sheriff's Department. Please do not contact the Sheriff's Communications Center.
Date:     Saturday, May 17, 2008
Time:     2:09:56 PM
Details: This morning, at approximately 10:50 AM, Deputies were dispatched to 1219 Smith Street regarding a victim of a stabbing.  On arrival, Deputies discovered that a 40 year old male subject was the victim of an apparent stab wound to the abdomen and a laceration to the back of his head.  The suspect had fled prior to the Deputies arrival in a small, black sedan.
The victim was transported, by ambulance, to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening wounds.
The investigation is continuing.
