Synopsis: DOUBLE TRAFFIC FATALITY ON SR-58

CITY OF RESIDENCE:    Bakersfield, CA         ;                 & nbsp;
TYPE OF CASE:  Traffic Collision
DATE OF INCIDENT:      05/19/2008      &nb sp;       &nbs p;         ;     TIME:   0743 Hours
LOCATION:  Southbound S. Washington Street, just south of E. Brundage Lane, Bakersfield
DATE OF DEATH:   05/19/2008      &nb sp;       &nbs p;         ;           TIME:  0743 Hours
PLACE OF DEATH:  Westbound SR-58 @ Washington Street Overpass, Bakersfield
INVESTIGATING AGENCY:  Bakersfield Police Department

Details:   Roman Cordero was the restrained operator of a pickup truck that was traveling southbound on S. Washington Street when he left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and onto the westbound lane of SR-58 where he struck a semi truck. 
Jose Raymond Garcia was the restrained passenger in the truck.  Both men expired from their injuries at the scene.
