This is a news release of the Kern County Sheriff's Department.

Details:
On 5-20-08 at approximately 0145 hours, Deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office were called to the
area of E. Warren Ave and Wisteria Ave to investigate a possible stabbing.  Deputies arrived and found
Preston Worthey ,age 38, from Bakersfield suffering from several stab wounds to the upper body. 
Worthey was transported to Kern Medical Center where he is being treated.

Deputies have not obtained any suspect information at this time.  This investigation is continuing.
