Click it or pay up to the Reich is a better way to put it. We are ruled by a pack of filth & the cops just follow orders as the cowardly public enjoys the pillaging. All of you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.

I support the right not to wear seatbelts, so long as it is exercised solely by card-carrying organ donors. posted by

No seat belt or partial use of one (lap part in place, shoulder part under your arm) will net you a minimum ticket of $135.00. If you pay online - they charge you for that too. I agree with all. posted by

as i stated before in the last post about click it or ticket, i always wear my selt belt because i prefer not to know what if feels like to go through my windshield... if you want to know how if feels, then go right ahead, but i doubt you'll make it through to tell me how wonderful the experience was. posted by

Yes...alot of folks out there are that far gone...the law is the law--until it is changed...so until then, I'll just exercise some common sence and buckle up and avoid that ticket.... posted by

Well it's your choice to buckle up or not. It's not up the government to dictate how you choose to live or die. The U.S. Constitution starts with WE THE PEOPLE..

How many more laws do we need? The crime rate is going up....so all of these new laws are only making more money for the bureaucrats. Never give up your guns. Things are only going to get a lot worse. Of course many of you are chicken neck cowards & you will beg the government for more cops & laws. Society is being duped. Hardcore Tyranny is enveloping.....many of you live cushy little lives & are willfully ignorant.

What I want to know is, are the cops going to just start pulling people over at random to check seat belt use? That is my problem. They often pull people over for no apparent reason; probable cause seems to have flown the coop. I too resent Big Brother telling me that I *MUST* wear a seatbelt. My life was endangered once when no one could get me out of a car leaking fuel because the seatbelt wouldn't release. The firemen had to cut it. I realize that my experience is not the norm, but the dam things still make me nervous. It should be a matter of personal choice. posted by

You are spot on Ghostriter. When I say I am against these anti American Check points & disgusting laws, I am not against the police. I am against corruption & unconstitutional laws. It''s to bad the majority of cops are now just pawns in a money game for the Prison/Police state industrial complex. One time I called the cops four times because a group of guys were fighting & waving guns in front of my home. The cops never showed up, not to mention a girl was holding a new born baby amongst the chaos. The very next morning I was on 99 & saw multiple speed traps & numerous people pulled over & ticketed, Most likely for only going a few miles over, The cops " call their speed trap operation "speed Saturation" . I guess they are just to busy making money for their bosses. I know many people who have had similar experiences. Now cops are referred to as law enforcers & authorities, They used to be called public servants & peace officers. Reminds of me of 1984 New Speak.

These are intellect-insulting laws that say we're too stupid to look out for ourselves, so the nanny state is going to do our thinking for us. As conservative as we are here, I am surprised how many people want a nanny state ordering them to use their seat belts.

Maybe some of Bakersfield's residents are true conservatives, but our "elected" leaders are a pack of Neo-Con trash. Ed Jagels & his minions are some of the most vile people in California. If you can call those creatures 'people'...... HA HA... I also laugh at how that low life scumbag Jaz McKay calls himself a Conservative patriot. What a joke. posted by

I have been saying for years that the government was taking us over bit by bit. I screamed and hollered when "they" passed the law for no smoking in bars and restaurants - what happened to the owner of that business making that choice? Now there is a law that says if you have kids in your own car you cannot smoke in your car. Then there is the helmet laws (bicycle & motorcycle), the child seat laws, the seat belt law, the pushing fast food places to "serve healthy", get rid of trans fats, can't disipline your own kids, teachers can't discipline them, can't say this word or that word, etc etc. What? the government thinks we can't take care of ourselves anymore? That is correct! They want to "save" us from ourselves! and they will one day own us, lock stock and barrel. I held a revolution..........................nobody showed. IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!!! posted by

I personally find it more alarming that there was enough lack of common sense out there that the "nanny state" laws were passed. Because I see the lack of common sense in the populace as the real problem, not back room conspiracies between law makers to erode personal freedoms. There would be no need to "save us from ourselves" if we were actually doing it effectively on our own.
