Friday, May 30, 2008 at 0244 Hrs. (2:44 a.m. PST) a re-enforced first alarm from the Bakersfield FIRE Department consisting of 4 engines, 2 trucks, 1 squad,  1 Battalion Commander, 1 arson unit, responded to a report of a structure fire at a southeast Bakersfield location. The first arriving engine company reported heavy fire emitting from the attic of a single family residence.
 
Bakersfield City FIRE crews advanced hose lines through the front door, and began to attack the stubborn attic fire. The fire was controlled in approximately twenty (20) minutes.
 
Damage estimate is set at approximately $100,000. 
 
This is the second fire in this house in 48 hrs. The fire in under investigation by BFD Arson units. But the cause is being considered suspicious. If anyone has information related to this fire they are encouraged to contact the Bakersfield FIRE Department at 326-3911.
