Piute Fire Evacuations

This is a news release of the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Details:

The Piute Fire Unified Command has issued the following evacuation notice:



A recommended evacuation has been issued for Caliente/Bodfish Road (County Road 483) from the intersection of Saddle Springs Road at Hooper Hill South to the Piute Meadows Trading Post.  All residents on both sides of the road are being recommended to leave the area.



A recommended evacuation will be the last warning given.





Shelter Information:  A shelter at the Kern Valley Senior Center, 6409 Lake Isabella Blvd is now open.  Animal Control will be on site to assist with companion animal sheltering if needed.  Residents with large animals should contact the Kern County Office of Emergency Services at (661) 391-7118 for assistance.



Thompson Canyon in Walker Basin is in a precautionary Evacuation Status.



Valley View (off Saddle Springs Road), Red Mountain Estates, Claraville and Liebel Ranch are all under recommended evacuations.
