I saw this on Law and Order last night.

Good grief!!!  Who does the hiring for KCSD extra help? Is it some kind of "Give Thugs A Chance" program?

This is a SWORN officer!!! Apparently they do not do anything wrong ever....?  If you ever have an issue with a probation officer, their supervisor will only take the side of the officer because they are a sworn officer and therefore do not lie or behave in an appropriate way..... just remember people this is Kern County and I am actually surprised that this detentions officer was arrested. The only reason that I can think of is because the offense was male on male and we all know how this town thinks of homosexuals, unfortunately...

A shiny new nickel is wagered here that Officer Tafoya will deny the solicitation and say the inmate contrived the accusation to avoid the work or to try and smear an officer of the law.

Right now you just don't know who is telling the truth unless there are other inmates or officers who know the truth.  Back around 1978, when Ronald Reagan was governor of California, an initiative was on the ballot to fire and/or prohibit gays and lesbians from teaching school.  Gov. Reagan came out against the initiative on the grounds that any child could (and many would, have and did) make up stories about a teacher coming on to them for the purpose of getting rid of the teacher, regardless of the teacher's sexual orientation.  This proposal was called the Briggs Initiative and was RESOUNDINGLY defeated because Californians understood that children will behave like children.

Well, if the lessons of society have taught us anything, it's that incarcerate criminals will say just about anything to effect a change in their situation. Lying to people about their experience in prison or about the details of their criminal activity is the topic of an endless number of popular television dramas. Those depictions reflect the truth of what prisoners will do and say.

So, unless someone can bear witness on behalf of the inmate, there's not a lot of credibility standing by to support this charge.

What not only Bakersfield, but most of the world doesn't understand, is that forced or extorted sex is not just rape, but the perpetrator's sexual orientation is almost exclusively heterosexual.  Straight men who are inclined to do this kind of thing will do so to establish dominance and to humiliate the victim, not to seek casual sexual gratification.  This is especially notable among prison inmates, but history from the Judeo-Christian world documents the practice of wholesale sexual abuse by heterosexual soldiers of enemy soldiers and heterosexual males of foreigners or strangers to their community.  So, yeah, you can call it a homosexual sex, but homosexuals don't engage in sex to humiliate or dominate their partner. This case  is a clear accusation of exploiting an inmate's subservient status in an act of domination.

Kern County Crooks at it again.....they did their homework before they arrested this man..trust me.....

I would almost guarantee you that the investigators had the inmate wear a recording/listening device, (wire), and the detentions officer hung himself talking. Watch and see.

But the teachers are the worst......sleeping with students, cooking meth in the high school lab......what a shame!

More often than it should.  Our detentions department was neglected for a while.  It needs to be totally revamped with strong managment and dedicated officers who actually want a career in detentions rather than a jumping off place for other jobs in LE.

Yeah, I've read about some of that stuff - it is a shame. So much of that kind of wierdness seems to be concentrated there. Maybe the weather has something to do with it.

It seems you read about something weird or demented just about everyday in the local paper - Foster parents who abuse; inept social service workers/depts.; old men getting beat to death by 13 year olds; teachers having sex with their minor students only to be outed by the 20 year old boyfriend (what happened to the boyfriend - got what he wanted, I suppose) .. etc.

If the victim was wired for sound to catch the DO, that means the DO tried it more than once.   Why would he go back to the same well if it came up dry the first time.

Audrey, my educated guess is the investigators set it up so the two would be alone somewhere, and with them watching and recording, the inmate brought it up, as instructed. It would certainly not be the first time Internal Affairs guys did that.

He wasn't stalking...he had a relationship with the boy.  He kept the kid out of jail and the kid...uh...well I'm not sure what the kid did in return but it no one was stalking.  The kid was killed in an auto accident in a car the ADA let him use.  The kids father killed the ADA..as most of us parents would have wanted to do.

I think it was reported that the Father confronted the DA about the ADA relationship with the boy. It appeared he had a ultimate concern for his child the ADA had contempt for.

Our crooked assistant DA Tauzer was murdered by Chris Hillis because Tauzer was obsessed with his son......aka Tauzer was gay and sleeping with Chris's son ...so ...Chris killed him...

Tauzer was the DA that withheld pertinent information in the Bruce Sons case...that is why Sons is a free man....

The father had more than one confrontation with the ADA.  I don't think anyone would describe the ADA's attention to the boy as "contempt."   He was obsessed with him (from the family) and the kid used that to get what he wanted.  (most peoples opinion.)

timec, I challenge you to show ANY proof that Tauzer was gay and he and Lance Hillis slept together. True, Chris Hillis "says" Tauzer admitted to it, but this is the same person who committed the murder, and he made this comment after Tauzer was dead. I await your proof.

Respectfully, the ADA's attention was mis-guided by his insinuations between the boy and his father. The grieved father then murdered arguably one of the most politically influential individuals in your County at the time. The perpetrator of the crime agreed to a ten sentence from a DA notorious for being tough on criminals.

OB, this discussion was going on within the family prior to the murder according to a close family member .  (not mine but a friend.)

Nancy, I'm not saying it wasn't suspected that something physical happened between Tauzer and Hillis, because I have my own suspicions about that. But timec said it like it was a fact, so I challenged her prove it. Of course, we know she can't.

You're right OB.   I think there was a letter or a note found that Tauzer had written to Lance but memory fails me there.  As in all cases unless I see it with my own eyes, it's speculation using the best available information. 

I also think, ultimitely, EVERYONE wanted that one swept under the carpet as quickly as possible.

Do you have any proof that he was not gay.....He was gay.....Chris was an ex cop he murdered this man for a reason.....not because he was helping his Lance out... His son was weak minded (due to drugs) and Tauzer took advantage.
