Oh, my gosh.  Teens!!!!!!!!  The parents of Bakersfield missing children must be thinking it may be their child.

I don't understand. Maybe I didnt read the whoel story. The way the article was written it sounds like the there were only body parts. Is that right? Another question, were both conatiners stored at Derrals?

Oh NO!

What monster did this?

posted by sagefever on Aug 27, 2008 at 09:08 AM

The remains were at that storage facility,I understood it to be parts, not whole bodies.....what monster indeed, and WTF is he/she? Sorry but this seriously creeps me out....

Since only certain people had access to that storage facility it shouldn't be too hard to find out which ones put those containers in there.  DInd't the report say several people were using the facility?

posted by sagefever on Aug 27, 2008 at 09:19 AM

Yes and the "folks" on Crane took a container that "did not belong" to them and found the first body part....then further investigation led to the second container.

I can't believe this is happening in real life.  I'll bet those kids will turn out to be siblings.

Yeah Cat.  That was my first thought too.

My mind is not quite wrapped around this one...OT Beautiful dolls Audrey! Now if we could just get people to see children as beautiful too...

OT

 Sage

Thanks.  Every woman needs a new dress now and then.  If you ever see a doll wearing a black riverboat dress as my avatar, you'll know I'm in a black mood.   Please forgive any sourpuss remarks I may make on those days.

Just to clarify something. Sheriff's deputies said on Aug. 20 that they discovered two complete sets of skeletal remains. They've been decomposing for several years. Essentially, it's a bunch of parts that make up two bodies.

I can't even imagine what the story is behind this... It's very disturbing. Does Kern County even have that many missing children reports??? Children that age would be listed as missing children at risk I am almost certain. If the familys reported them missing. This is really scary folks.

How horrible and disturbing!  Just makes you wonder....

THE BODIES WERE FOUND AND DISCOVERED TO BE OF A BOY AND A GIRL BUT YET NO ONE WILL SAY WHO THE CHILDREN ARE YET THE WOMAN PASSED AWAY IN JANUARY FROM KIDNEY FAILURE AND NOW IT'S A MISTERY AS TO WHO THE KIDS ARE PLEASE PEOPLE WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO.  NOW WE MUST WAIT TO FIND OUT WHO THE IDENTIES ARE YET THEY ALREADY KNOW WHY WONT THEY JUST TELL US.

I BELIEVE IT IS AWFUL TO KNOW SOMEONE COULD LEAVE THEIR CHILDREN IN A STORAGE PLACE FOR YEARS AND KEEP ON LIVING LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED.

LADYSCOBBY-Where did you read that they know the identity of the victims? If you have inside info please feel free to share.  What are you talking about a woman passed away in January from kidney failure?  Just curious as to what your jumbled post meant.

posted by CatherineBaker on Aug 30, 2008 at 09:06 AM

Michele,  I think the sheriff's dept has leads.  Don't know how Ladyscooby found out, though.  Can't comment any more about it.

KBAK was reporting earlier in the week that the remains would possibly be identified by "tomorrow" (I forget what day of the week they had this report). Obviously, that was not an accurate estimate of how long it would take to match dental records, but I could see how someone watching that news report could miss the "possibly" and see it as the authorities sitting on the identities.

Edit: As for the person that passed away earlier in the year, that was an early report in this case. Someone said that section of storage "belonged" to a neighbor who had passed away. There was the impression that the people who discovered the hand were clearing out that section because of this, but it was never really stated that way.

Obviously the children weren't "missing" which makes me think the parents or parent knew about it.  I've read too many detective stories.  If I say illegals will I get slapped down for being a racist?

That's a really sad situation.  Poor little kids.  Stored away like so much garbage.  It seems impossible that no one in the last few years noticed the smell?

posted by Shwaine on Aug 30, 2008 at 04:19 PM

I thought about the smell too Nancy, but it's possible the remains were only moved to the storage unit after the smell had dissipated.

Edit: As to identifying the remains, there is another possibility besides being illegals. We've seen enough in the news of late to know that not all parents are caring parents. After seeing the European man that locked his daughter in a basement and the "wild child" of Florida, I say there's many more gruesome probable identities for these children than unreported illegals.
