Truancy Sweep Results

“Operation Bear Trap 2”

Serving the Communities of Arvin and Lamont

November 19, 2008

This is the results of the Truancy Sweep conducted in the communities of Arvin and Lamont yesterday morning.  Agencies who participated:
•    Arvin Police Department
•    Bakersfield Police Department
•    Kern County Probation Department
•    Kern County Sheriff’s Department
•    Kern High School District Police Department
•    Kern County District Attorney’s Office
•    Administration and Staff of Arvin High School
•    Administration and Staff of Nueva High School- Lamont
•    Administration and Staff of Haven Drive Middle School- Arvin

Results:
•    Total students on our target list – 96
•    Total students contacted at school- 59
•    Total students located and returned to school from home-40
•    Total juveniles contacted by patrolling officers- 44
•    Total contacts made- 143
 
•    Truancy Citations Issued- 13
•    Citations Issued to Adults (Allowing Students to be Truant)- 2
•    Open Misdemeanor Arrest - 1
•    Warrant Felony Arrest- 1 (suspect wanted on $250,000 warrant)
•    Probation Searches- 7
•    Parole Contacts- 1
