Immigration agents arrest 31 in Bakersfield area

Word came to the Breaking News Team that a group of illegal immigrants was arrested this week and most of them were released because of housing issues. Well, that wasn't the case, but there was a three-day operation in the Bakersfield area that resulted in 31 illegal immigrants being arrested.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's local fugitive operations team conducted the operation from Tuesday through Thursday, said ICE spokeswoman Virginia Kice.

Of the 31 people arrested, 12 have been deported, 11 were in ICE custody, five were released on bond, two were released on their own recognizance and are required to report to ICE regularly, and one person is on a more formal supervised release.

Some of the illegal immigrants also had criminal records, including some drug convictions, Kice said. All were expected to appear before an immigration judge.

Should have been 31 hundred! Those 8 that were released will show up in court with bells on!  Yea right! 12 fewer, is better than none fewer...Can't help but wonder if the next door neighbors yard guy's will show up next week..Hmmm.

If ICE were serious, they would have agents and a couple big buses at every DUI/drivers license checkpoint that the cops set up.  The direction the economy is going in anticipation of the 0bama regime, there are going to be fewer jobs that "Americans won't do".

Was there a point to this arrest?  If they're just going to let thim go why bother?  Do you suppose if one of us was arrested for being in a country illegally they would just turn us out into the street with a promise to come back for court?

Dril,
Jack Walsh, Past CEO of GE. Says he is on the Obama band wagon. And he is optimistic that Obama can lead America out of the troubles that have led us to were we are today.

That does not sound like a endorsement of Reaganomics to me.

Only 11% of Americans say they will miss Bush Jr. My guess is that those 11% are all stand up comedians.
