On December 15th, 2008 at 8:47 PM, deputy sheriffs and medical aid were dispatched to a report of a 5 month old child not breathing at the trailer park at 6601 Eucalyptus St., space 189 in Bakersfield. The child was transported to Kern Medical Center. There appeared to be no visible signs of trauma to the child. The child, who was identified as Carl Deloney, a foster child, was airlifted to Valley Children’s Hospital. Sheriff’s detectives began an investigation into the incident.

As the week progressed, Carl Deloney’s health deteriorated and on Thursday, December 18th, he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was conducted today (December 22). The results of which are pending.

The investigation is continuing.
