California Highway Patrol Press Release

MAJOR INJURY TRAFFIC COLLISION SR-202 WEST OF TAMERON RD

On December 29, 2008 at approx 7:35 PM, Ms. Sabrina Walker  (Age 18, Tehachapi,Ca) was traveling eastbound SR- 202 at a undetermined speed in a BMW sedan.  Mr. Shawn Hayes (age 40, Tehachapi, Ca) was traveling westbound SR-202 at a speed of approx 45 m.p.h..  For an unknown reason Ms Walker steered her vehicle to the left and entered the westbound lane of SR-202.  The two vehicles then collided head on.  Mr. Hayes sustained severe injuries as a result of this collision and was transported by helicopter to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.  Ms. Walker sustained minor injuries and was transported by Hall Ambulance to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.  Both driver’s were wearing their seatbelts.  Alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
