Kern County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two juveniles late Monday night after a chase through Bakersfield that ended with the two crashing a stolen truck into a home at a dead end, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies originally tried to stop the brown, late model Ford Ranger before 10 p.m. in east Bakersfield for not having its headlights on, but the driver  did not stop.

Instead, the driver went west on 24th Street, south on Highway 99 and east on Brundage Lane.

The driver was said to be “swerving all over the roadway,” and driving on the wrong side of the road at times, according to scanner traffic. The truck stayed at 40 to 50 mph throughout the chase. At one point, the windows were broken from the truck.

The driver eventually wound up in a dead end on Roosevelt Street. There, the driver rolled into the driveway of an apartment complex and struck the wall of an apartment.

Minor damage was done to the apartment and vehicle, and no one was injured.

Deputies caught two suspects who were 14 and 16 years old, Lt. Bart Camps said. They were arrested on chargs of grand theft auto and evading arrest, deputies said.

Camps said it appeared both were drinking.

Again where were the parents?  The scanner also said that they threw items out of the window on the freeway near California Ave.  I was wondering how the window got busted out.  It was not any doing of the police.

Wow nothing like gangster kids running around causing problems. I think major props should go out to the parents. GOOD JOB raising your kids
