Officer injured in crash by suspected drunk driver

A Bakersfield police officer suffered minor injuries Friday night when a suspected drunk driver ran a red light and broadsided a patrol car. Casey Lynn Jimerson, 23, of Bakersfield, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said. Officer Jason Hackney ws driving southbound on Union Avenue at 7:45 p.m. As he turned onto Pacific Street, Jimerson, driving north on Union, ran a red light and hit the patrol car, police said.
