Funeral services for CSUB distance runner

Funeral services for Noemi Perez, the Cal State Bakersfield distance runner who was killed in a car crash Sunday night, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Arvin Funeral Home, 600 Tucker St.

A viewing will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Perez, a member of the CSUB track and field and cross country teams, was a mathematics major at CSUB and a 2008 Arvin High graduate, where she was the school’s Female Athlete of the Year her senior year.

Once again, a low-life drunk driver killed a person. I hope he gets the maximum amount of time.
