On February 22, 2009, at approximately 7:48 pm, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a report of an assault victim at the La Rosa Market located at 700 Irene Street.

When Deputies arrived they learned a male subject, age 28, had been stabbed twice in the neck by a male subject during a disturbance outside of the business.

The victim told Deputies the incident began when he was leaving the market and became involved in a verbal argument with two (2) males in the parking lot area.

The victim said the argument became physical and that one of the subjects then stabbed him in the neck with a knife.

The victim said the suspects in the assault were both Hispanic males and the suspect armed with the knife was about 4’08” in height.  The victim also said this suspect weighed about 120 pounds and was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

The other suspect was described by the victim as being 5’03” in height, weighing 140 pounds and wearing a black and white colored jacket.  The victim said both suspect had fled the area after he was stabbed in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to Kern Medical Center, by ambulance, where his condition is listed as stable.  Anyone having information regarding the assault is asked to call the Kern County Sheriffs Office at (661) 861-3110.

It has gotten to the point --( at least for me )-- that I really could care less that they are killing themselves over nothing...I was taught that if I had nothing nice to say--then don't say it....but this has to be said....live by the sword--die by the sword.....

I have more feelings for an animal that gets killed or runned over in the streets than mindless ghetto trash that knows better...Yes--I'm numb to them killing themselves....just like Dodge City in the 1800's.....

Kind of sad isn't it LING. That we have all reached the emotional point that the killings on our streets have reached the point of "oh yawn..........another one bites the dust".  It has become such a daily thing that we are now no longer outraged by the loss of life.

It's just a matter of time ~Nancy~...just one bridge away...by the way--I go through there from time to time and see ALOT of people of color on the streets--has been for years---anyhoo....where the shooting happened was just across the river---just give it time....

How did ' Pink Floyd ' say it---' Comfortably Numb '......by the way--the bath was and always GREAT....

~Witters~...you're right...it is sad that it has come to this....but this is the life that they have choosen..not me...WE have agencies that sends out the ' meat wagons ' to retrieve the damaged...to stand toe-to-toe with those that want to do harm against you and me...I could really care less about ..... " Oh boo-hoo....he was such a good boy......you know..." and things are going to get worse in time......hunker-down...2009 is not going to be nice...

~Witters~...it makes you think....it makes you turn the page in history and makes you reflect as to how we are evolving through history...while technology is evolving faster than humans--we will be our own downfall....let them kill one another--and over what--something that we wouldn't even dream of wanting..I'm just glad to know how to defend myself and my loved ones in a vicious manner..I just pray that it doesn't come to that....but it will--in time..

MOI' has 3 large dogs, 'hunter' husband, .45, 30 ot 6 and a couple of 'Saturday night' specials!! OH, ALL loaded and good to go!

I don't go to the mall anymore but only because I hate shopping and what I want/need I can buy on line now :-)  IF I am out and about, I always make myself aware of my surroundings and who is near me - walking or driving. At night - all doors locked, windows rolled up.

Again, a pretty sad state of affairs IMO as we used to walk down the ALLEY just off Oleander, to get to Beale Park. Would walk that way at night also when returning from a concert.
