BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

Saturday, February 28, 2009

Arrest of Kidnapping and Sexual Assault Suspect

On 2/28/09, at approximately 3:00 a.m. Anthony Ray Graham, Jr, was arrested in
Los Angeles.  Graham was being sought in connection with the kidnapping,
robbery, and sexual assault of a female which occurred on 1/29/09 on Rosedale
Hwy.

Early this morning Los Angeles Police Department officers observed an occupied
and illegally parked vehicle in front of an apartment complex in downtown Los
Angeles.  The officers contacted the occupants, a male and two females.  The
male subject identified himself as Graham and a records check by the officers
revealed that he was wanted out of Bakersfield.  He was taken into custody
without incident and the Bakersfield Police Department was notified.  The
females who were with Graham were released.

Three Bakersfield Police Department detectives are currently in Los Angeles
conducting further investigation.  Upon completion of the investigation in Los
Angeles, Graham will be transported back to Bakersfield.  At this time it is
unknown when that will occur.
