Deputies, probation and schools crack down on taggers

Sheriff's Gang Suppression Section Deputies, Kern High School Police and Probation Department Team up for Tagger sweep.

Details:As a result of this mornings tagger sweep officers arrested 10 juveniles for probation violations, 1 adult for probation violation, and 1 adult arrested for possession of a stolen motorcycle.

In response to recent Tagger Crew violence, Kern County Sheriff's Gang Suppression Section Deputies teamed up with Kern High School Police and Kern County Probation Department to conduct an early morning sweep of tagger crew suspects.  35 law enforcement officers deployed in the Bakersfield area at 0600 hours this morning in an effort to arrest several tagger suspects who are responsible for several thousand dollars worth of property damage.  Officers will also conduct probation compliance checks on about 40 subjects in the Bakersfield area who are currently on probation for tagger related crimes.

We used to play tag as children, and now you can go to jail for it :(  It's like shoplifting and arson - is nothing sacred and what is this world coming to?
