"Police BUST 63 for seat belt violations." Sounds as if citizens are being turned into criminals over seat belts. Special task force. Next thing you know they will be calling out the swat team and K9 units to catch the seat belt violaters. LOLOLOL. posted by

weenie, it was TBC that used the word "BUST". Notice the news release used the correct term, "cited". But the headline riles the ignorant public, like you, and makes people read the paper. And where do you see this was a special task force? It was regular officers whose duty time was paid for by a state funded grant. You are one of those people who criticize the police no matter what they do. LOLOLOL. posted by

It's nice to know that the BPD has solved every other problem in Bakersfield and is now doing a major seatbelt crackdown. I've never felt so safe in my whole life... [/sarcasm] posted by

A guy just went off in the canyon, unrestrained and was killed. He might have died even belted but he sure as heck did with no seatbelt on. posted by

" He might have died even belted but he sure as heck did with no seatbelt on."
Why did'nt they have a safety belt checkpoint at each end of the canyon? That would solve that problem of non-seatbelted drivers running through that canyon, right quick. You guys must be feeling safer ...? --virgil posted by

Chiweenie, B-town special safety belt com[pliance patrols are not about public safety. Though, they do have everything to do with some "awesome overtime." --virgil posted by

vigil, you have more typos than normal in your last two comments. Been hitting the bong tonight? And how do you know any overtime at all was paid during the seat belt enforcement push? Or are you spouting off without any proof, as usual?

Ward, Can you tell me if B-town pd has any open positions? You know vacancies - are they fully staffed? They bring in some part-timers from Taft? --virgil posted by

vigil, if you follow the local news you would not have to ask such a stupid question. posted by

So, the special safety seat belt patrol ( four officers paid to drive around looking for seat belt violators) involved some awesome overtime, or did it not.? You crack yourself another beer now, if you want. --virgil posted by
