Victim of a Shooting in East Bakersfield

Details:At approximately 11:44 p.m. Deputies received a call of shots fired in the 300 Blk. of Isla Del Sol. While Deputies were responding, a description was broadcast of the possible suspects. The Sheriff's helicopter arrived on scene and they saw subjects running from the area who matched the description of the suspects. The air unit directed responding officers to the subjects who were detained pending further investigation.

Deputies discovered a black male juvenile 17, who was the victim of a gunshot at the corner of Isla Del Sol Dr and Virginia Ave. Because of the serious nature of the injury, Homicide detectives were called to the scene.

A firearm was discovered abandoned in the area which may have been used in the assault.

The victim was transported to Kern Medical Center and he is listed in critical condition.
