Oildale man attacks neigbors with hedge trimmers

Incident at 123 McCord Av

This is a news release of the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Please do not contact the Sheriff's Communications Center.

Date:  Thursday, April 30, 2009
Time:  3:06:26 PM

Details:

On April 29, at 8:34 pm, Deputies were dispatched to a trailer park at 123 McCord Av. in Oildale for a possible drunk subject bleeding and creating a disturbance in the trailer park. Upon Deputies arrival, they saw the subject, covered in blood, wildly swinging hedge trimmers at other residents of the trailer park. Deputies ordered the subject to drop the hedge trimmers and he complied. As Deputies were directing the subject toward their location he suddenly ran into the trailer of the residents he was attempting to assault. A Deputy deployed their taser stopping the suspect. Medical aid responded and determined the suspect had a head injury caused prior to Deputies arrival. The subject was transported to Kern Medical Center by ambulance.

Investigation revealed the subject had sustained a head injury from an unsuccessful suicide attempt prior to Deputies dispatched to the scene. The subject was a white male fifty-five years of age who had recently moved into the trailer park. He is listed in critical condition but not life threatening. No arrests have been made.

Investigation is continuing

A drunk white guy, age 55, in a "ghetto" trailer park, in the 'dale, chasing people with hedge trimmers.

Sounds like a normal Wednesday night there to me.

Hopefully the doctors at KMC did a blood screen for meth/heroin/cocaine too.

I think you guys Seriously need to back off. you dont know anything about what that mans life was like or what cause him to act thusly.  For someone to make fun of something like this is cruel and shows how shallow and immature people can be and it makes me sick. you guys only see one side of the story, the side the cops saw and what they reported. I am a friend of the family of this man and to see his situation made fun of like this is unclassy and makes me sad to live in a town where people have no respect or compassion for one another regardless for the situation.

Thusly?  Do you use that word in your day to day conversations?

Haven't heard anyone use that in a month of Sundays.

horsegrl09,  Are you serious?  The dudes in oildale on Mccord  come on he is either Spun or drunk! heck i bet the trimmers were stolen.  If you want to have compassion for him go to the hospital and be by his side or send flowers.  Bet you wouldn't be thinking the same if he had been chasing you around with trimmers.

Apparently there was a breakin on Charlana with the lady in the house.  When she went to lock the door they shoved their way in with a knife.  She threatened with a gun and they took off.

Good for her!!  Hope they don't go back now.

horseface09, if this idiot was chasing my Oildale beauty with hedge trimmers, all drunk or tweaking, I would not care if he had a MBA from Stanford. He deserves to get his white trash skull split open.

Thusly, that is my opinion.

Unfortunately, area statistics would SUGGEST drugs could have been involved. Of course, if I lived in a trailer park on McCord, I'd use too (as a coping mechanism).  Now, not ALL people that live there are bad people. Poverty, while unfortunate, is not a character deficiency. Unfortunately the ones that are decent are outnumbered by the ones that either indecent or indifferent.

Use drugs to cope with being poor? somehow that doesn't make sense.  But you are right not all the people that live there are bad people. I'm guessing about 85% are.drug users.

~Horsegrl09~...OK.....tell us what the man is like..it sounds like to me that you know this individual better than all of us out here...what drove him to do what he did....

He wasnt spun out. He was freaked out! After he had did it, he didnt know what to do when he lived. He didnt assualt people he picked up hedgers in hopes that the officer would kill him. People need to get their story straight. He didnt do drugs. He rarley even took an asprin! For gods sake people...... he was in a bad situation at home and opted to stay in an rv park........

So WardCleaver, I hope whatever entity is out there puts you in my shoes one day.

THUSLY, I love you Daddy, I'll be down there to see you today.

awww what a touching story. But what makes me sick is people who want to commit suicide can't just die alone they want to take innocent people with them.  He couldn't kill himself so he  chooses to let a cop do it for him after terrorizing people and acting crazy.  Whatever! Yep real sweetheart of a guy....glad i didn't know him.

posted by RFS2005 on May 1, 2009 at 11:13 AM

He didnt try to take innocent people with him. Were you there? Like I stated before..... he picked up a pair of hedgers he never assualted anyone. And once again he was a sweetheart. If you needed anything no matter who you were he would be there in a drop of a hat. BTW lana he isnt a theif either he works for everything he has, and he wasnt poor.

Even sweethearts have their bad days i guess.  Now maybe he can get the help he needs. Good luck!
