Coroner needs help identifying man found dead in road

On April 25, 2009 at about 2318 hours, both the Kern County Sheriff’s
Office and the California Highway Patrol responded to the 1900 Block of
Niles Street just west of Palm Drive on a report of a man lying in the
roadway.  Upon their arrival it was learned the subject had sustained
traumatic injuries   The male subject was transported to Kern Medical
Center.  The subject later died from his injuries on April 26, 2009 at
1110 hours.  An autopsy was performed on April 30, 2009 and it was
determined that the subject sustained injuries consistent with being
struck by a hit and run vehicle.  All attempts to identify the subject
and locate next of kin have met with negative results.  The Coroner’s
Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying this
subject.  Please contact the Coroner’s Office at 868-0100 with any
information.

Whenever I hear of someone who is so forgotten that they can't be identified I always think "this person was some woman's baby at one time.  Loved and protected.  How did they come to this"?

WardC, that's not funny. Regardless of what nationality or immigration status this person had, he was still human, and shouldn't have been left on the road to die like a dog.

Someone once loved him and held him, he was a son...

I have my own personal feelings about immigration and that whole mess, but it does not have a place here.

How horrible...of all people I despise...it is hit and run drivers.  My son was hit by a hit and run driver when he was 13 years old.  They left him lying in the street bleeding, his whole forehead ripped open.  The poor kid had to get up and walk to his friend's house with a knee injury, bleeding profusely from his forehead.  God has a special place for people like that...and I hear it gets pretty hot down there!!!
