Retired sheriff's deputy faces molestation charges

A retired Kern County sheriff’s deputy will be arraigned Monday on six felony charges of molesting two or more children, Bakersfield police said.

Mark Thomas Petrina, 76, was extradited Thursday from Aberdeen, Wa., where he was recently arrested, Sgt. Greg Terry said.

He remains in jail in lieu of posting $270,000 bail. He’s charged with three counts of molesting a child under 14 years old, two counts of molesting a 14 or 15 year old child, and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Mark I hope they let you keep one of your sidearms and you have the good sense to use it.

An old child molesting cop going to prison?

I think you're right Bartley. It's time to look down the business end of his Glock. Or has he been retired so long he has a .38 Special?

Spit...spew...

"under cover of color"~ nothing more disgusting.

Assuming he is guilty,of course.

 Assuming guilt,

.38 caliber 76 special - just call him stubby.

Anyone remember Howie Wines, AKA Deputy Howie? Sheriffs officer.

He was the darling of right wing talk radio (KERN) back in the 60’s, and had a long running talk show.

He hosted a kids TV show too. Can’t remember the local station.

Also a proud Boy Scout troop leader.

He was convicted of molesting boys back in the 80’s.

Hadn’t thought of him in a long time until this story was posted.

Mark Thomas Petrina-what can a person say? Especially when I have known him my whole life because he married into my family. The guy is a freaky creep and always has been, but no one ever thought this would be something he would do. He was pompous and loved to tell you how important he was- I am sure that is how he got ALL his victims to buy into his sick life choices and then he had a talent for making you (vicim) feel like you did the bad thing. Ido LOVE the above posts....did any one know he was on suicide watch? As much as do want him to take his own life, I have to believe that when ho goes to the "big" house, he will be treated the same way he treated his victims- and I can only hope that it is 100x's worse and several times a day. Sounds sick, but what he did to those victims makes me believe that he deserves it! -Killercuremode
