Two arrested in marijuana growing operation

On Friday morning, deputies assigned to the Kern County Sheriff's Office Major Violator Unit served a search warrant near Cane Creek, West of Wofford Heights, on U.S. Forest Service property.  The Deputies were assisted by a U.S. Forest Agent, two Special Agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and Deputies assigned to the KCSO Gang Suppression Special Investigation Unit.  The  Deputies and Agents located a large Marijuana garden divided into several small plots.  Some of the Marijuana plants were in excess of eight feet tall.  Deputies located and arrested a suspect, Camillo Villasenor, age 29, of Temecula.  Villasenor was found asleep in a a small cavern beneath a large boulder which was located in the main Marijuana garden.  A loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol was located next to Villasenor.  A second suspect, Efren Mondragon-Villa, age 19, was confronted on a footpath in the garden.  Mondragon-Villa, fled and escaped into the forest.  Deputies then eradicated 3158 Marijuana plants from the gardens.  Due to the remoteness of the area, the eradicated Marijuana was flown out using Sheriff Department helicopters.  The Deputies and suspect were flown out of the garden.

A short time later, with the help of a citizen tip, Mondrago-Villa, was located at a convenience store in Wofford Heights.  Mondragon-Villa had fresh scratches and abrasions to his arms and back area consistant with running through the thick foliage and branches.  He was positively identified by the initial pursuing Deputies.  Both suspects were booked into the Central Receiving Facility for Conspiracy and Cultivation of Marijuana.

Not meaning to hijack this post but it made me think of Virgil.  Has anyone 'heard' from him lately?

Ah - doing jobs we won't do.

No Virgil sighting here.

Ah, I see the KCSO smoke and mirrors crew assisted with this one. Were these men gang members?

Aren't their rapists, murderers, and child molestors that need to be arrested.  After all these people have been arrested and our officers are sitting around twiddling their thumbs, then waste time and money going after "outlaw gardeners."

Was that million dollar Huey helicopter used on this?  How many times has that very expensive piece of machinery actually been used btw?

  Michelle,

I've been on vacation. I'm glad to be back in my home and in  my normal climes again, too,  I gotta tell you !

By the way you guys, we've only spent about 25 billion on this sort of thing ( marijuana smokers and eaters ) this year - you know, it's for public safety and stuff like that.

WHY DO THEY WASTE ALL THIS TAX MONEY ON THIS BUSTING OF MARIJAUNA GROWERS??

MAYBE THEY COULD FIND THE SHOOTERS ,ROBBERS,RAPEIST AND VIOLATERS OF MORE HORRIBLE CRIMES.

THESE THINGS NEED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF,NOT MARIJAUNA GROWERS!!!

IF IT WAS LEGAL,OUR STATE WOULDNT BE IN THIS MESS WE ARE IN,THE TAX MONEY FROM IT WOULD BE OF VERY GOOD USE, THEN MAYBE OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT WOULD GET BACK TO SOLVING REAL CRIMES AND WE JUST MIGHT FEEL ALOT SAFER!!!!!
