Victim of fall into a mine shaft
NEWS RELEASE Details: On 11/1/2009 at 1418 hours, deputies from the Ridgecrest Substation were dispatched to assist Kern County Fire on a report from witnesses of a 30 year old female that had fallen into a mine shaft at the Tungstun Peak Mine located one mile south of the intersection of Hwy 14 and Hwy 395. The victim was later identified as Linda Rose from the Ridgecrest area. 2 comments from 2 users

I heard this on the scanner yesterday afternoon. I can tell you from the radio traffic, that the fire, law enforcement, rescue and everybody involved were working frantically to faciltate this rescue. My heart goes out to the family and all the people involved in the rescue.
