For Immediate Release

November 2, 2009 
On 11/2/09, at 1:38 p.m., Bakersfield Police responded to 3619 'M' Street to a
report of a man down outside the apartment.  Upon arrival, officers located Jerry
Ennis 58 lying on the ground, suffering from a laceration to his neck.  Ennis was
transported to KMC where he died.  
 
Ennis’ vehicle was parked in the street south of the apartment on M Street and it
is apparent that he made his way from the vehicle to the front door of the
apartment after he was assaulted. The investigation is continuing.

Details: The decedent was found stabbed in the 3600 block of "M" Street.  He was transported to Kern Medical Center Emergency Room where he later died as a result of his injuries.
