Men dress up like security guards, rob woman

BAKERSFIELD POLICE
DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

November 2, 2009

Bakersfield Police are investigating a reported robbery involving two men
dressed in security guard uniforms.
A female victim reported on 10/23/09, at about 11:15 p.m., she was in the south
parking lot of the Marriott hotel, 801 Truxtun Avenue when she was confronted
by two men who were dressed as security guards. One of the men displayed a
firearm and demanded the victim's purse. The woman turned over the purse and
the suspects fled. The suspects had been standing near a red pick up prior to the
offense; however it is not known whether the suspects are connected to that
vehicle.

The suspects were described as:

Black male, late 20's, clean shaven with brown hair, dressed in a black security
guard windbreaker, black cargo pants, black boots, and a black baseball cap with
a white symbol on the front.  This suspect was armed with a black firearm.

Hispanic male, 20's, clean shaven with brown wavy hair, dressed in a black
security guard windbreaker, black cargo pants, black boots, and black baseball
cap with a white symbol on the front.

Anyone with any information related to this crime, or possible suspects in this
crime, is encouraged to call contact Detective Clayton Madden at 326-3953.

One thing you have to say for crooks, they're inventive.

So they spent about $50 apeice for security outfits just to hopefully get a couple of hundred bucks, if they're lucky?  This reminds me of the commercial where the guy asks the cashier to break a 20 then he raids the register when she opens it only to get away with $15.

They'd be better off selling dope or some other illicit activity.

Standby for BNT's report on stolen security guard uniforms.

What do you want to bet that they're actually security guards pretending to be crooks pretending to be guards!

Maybe they were drunk off duty CDC guards...

"Maybe they were drunk off duty CDC guards..."

it's all good just as long as they don't stop to help a Highway Patrol officer with an accident

It would be funnier if they dressed as women and robbed the security guards.
