LAPD motorcycle officer hurt in Interstate 5 crash

A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was in stable condition
Saturday after colliding with a pickup truck on Interstate 5, police said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

LAPD Officer Timothy Kay was headed northbound on I-5 north of the Tejon
Summit at an unknown speed when he collided with the left rear of a red 2001
Chevrolet pickup traveling in the No. 2 traffic lane about 6:23 a.m.
Saturday, according to a news release issued by the California Highway
Patrol.

The collision sent Kay, who lives in Frazier Park, out of control and he was
ejected. The officer suffered a broken right arm, minor cuts on his forehead
and a major cut on the back of his head, police said.

He was taken to University of Southern California Medical Center via air
ambulance.

A CHP officer could not be reached Saturday to comment on whether injuries
were sustained by Joel Lopez of Artesia, who was in the pickup.

Is this not old news from 10-7-09?

I saw this posted earlier today, before this blog came up, and knew it was another mess up. I assumed Officer Kay was just accident prone.... :)

I think the "Breaking News Team", should change there profile name to, "We'll Get Stuff Posted, No Matter How Long It Takes Us."
