Now Moe has apparently escaped from his most recent home in San Bernardino and disappeared into a forested area. Check out the post on the LA Times blog. Or you can read a short...

OK, the FBI crime stats for 2007 are out. Basically, homicide is down, a ton (40 percent!) but other violent crime (assault, rape, etc.) is up.  In the end, homicides fell so much they appear to have offset the increase in other violent crime and we had a net down year in crime. But do you feel safe here? Do you walk outside at night? Lock your car doors and windows during the day?

But further review revealed that Throne was not wearing one. He...

Some people have been wondering whether the two deputies involved in the fatal crash recently were wearing seatbelts. We called the California Highway Patrol to ask, and they sent us the report on the crash. The clickable PDF document attached shows that they were wearing safety equipment at the time of the crash. Kern County sheriff's investigation reports say that Michael Richards got mad that his original drive-through order for Sausage McMuffins didn't include eggs. He parked, went inside and argued with the clerk. She said the special didn't include eggs.  So he paid for the difference and got four Sausage McMuffins with...

If you're a regular reader of our arrest log posts you'll have noticed we haven't had any for a few days. Turns out the sheriff's department is having some technical problems and aren't able to ship these out as per normal. They say they're working on it so we expect this is just a temporary blackout. For those folks who hate the fact that we post the arrest log, enjoy the hiatus! -- Davin McHenry
