A Bakersfield police officer received minor injuries late Saturday night when he was struck by a police patrol car as he chased a robbery suspect on foot.

We got a voicemail from a woman who is convinced that the reason we didn't run the names of the two kids accused of killing a local elderly couple is because they are white.

The two teens accused of fatally stabbing and beating an elderly couple over the summer have been identified as 17-year-old Kyle Hoffman and 16-year-old Luis William Palafox.

A three-year-old boy was attacked by his family’s pit bull Tuesday afternoon in east Bakersfield.
The boy suffered severe cuts and puncture wounds to his face, stomach, one of his arms and his right leg, deputies said. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The attack happened at a house in the 2100 block of Sandy Lane. Deputies said Animal Control had taken the dog and the child’s mother had said she wanted it to be euthanized.

Officers responded to a report of guns being seen at a party at a home in the 1300 block of Innsbruck Drive at about 11 p.m., according to Sgt. Greg Terry with the Bakersfield Police Department.
Police did not find guns, but found alcohol and not enough adult supervision at the party, Terry said. Some individuals at the party had gang associations.

Officers tried to stop a vehicle in the area of Panama Lane and Monitor Street at 1 a.m. but the driver kept going, Bakersfield police said.
