Young men in the same age groups are also causing more alcohol-involved crashes. So kids, smarten up and don't be a statistic. You know the drill --...

At one point, he was handed some from an audience member. He went by the DJ's booth with friends to have a "discussion," he said. The group, presumably, smoked it. But the audience...

Court documents released Thursday say Koreena Merrick, a relative of 17-year-old Kyle Hoffman, kept quiet about the slayings of Joseph and Dorothy Parrott after Hoffman told her about his role in them. It wasn't until weeks later, when Hoffman confessed to a youth minister who then went to police, that Hoffman...

Just got off the phone with Sgt. Mark Baldwin from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue team. He took a day to get back to me but I let him off because he explained he'd been a bit busy, what with the snow and rescuing people and everything. I was asking him about people who need rescuing when they get stuck in the snow and I wanted to know if there was a fee to get rescued. "No," Sgt. Baldwin told me. I asked if it was frustrating rescuing people who...

According to the National Weather Service, we are in for much colder and snowy weather for the next several days. Preparing your home and family for winter weather is critical for mountain residents. Consider the possibilities. Loss of electrical power will render most home heating appliances useless.
