A military man was extradited from Oklahoma and arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in Bakersfield in 2007.
Eric Michael Earls, 30, raped the victim the same day they met, Bakersfield police said.
Earls was booked Wednesday and, according to the Superior Court Web site, was being held on $50,000 bail. An arraignment was scheduled for 3 p.m. today.

A Bakersfield man who suspected his wife was having an affair planted recording devices in their home, according to police.
The man was arrested on suspicion of eavesdropping, a misdemeanor.

A fire in a southwest apartment caused $50,000 damage Tuesday afternoon and left 12 homeless, Bakersfield firefighters said.
But an aggressive attack kept the fire from spreading to other apartments or buildings, Battalion Chief Ken Wiggins said.
Flames in the dining room and kitchen of the apartment at 5804 Stockdale Highway broke out windows, Wiggins said.
