A 55-year-old Bakersfield bicyclist, who once rode to Canada by himself,  was killed Monday night by a suspected drunken driver, the California Highway Patrol reported. Homicide in South Bakersfield  On 06/30/2009 at around 0043 hours, deputies were sent to the 1300 block of Reese Ave. for a victim of a shooting.  When deputies arrived they found a black male adult lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Female arrested for Robbery in South Bakersfield Details: On 06/29/2009 at around 2220 hours, deputies investigated a robbery.  21-year-old Ashley Yzaguirre, reportedly threatened a female juvenile with a knife and stole the juvenile's property.  The property was later recovered and Yzaguirre was arrested and booked for robbery, possession of stolen property and a gang enhancement.

So the FBI released it's annual batch of crime stats that shows trends in major crimes in all cities with more than 100,000 people.
