The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the publics help in identifying suspects wanted for business burglary. On 06/01/09, at about 4:45 a.m., two suspects forced entry into the UK Dollar Store at 1626 Beale Avenue and removed money/cigarettes. The suspects were caught on surveillance video. The Kern Valley Sun has a very detailed story about the pack of dogs in Weldon that attacked and killed a miniature pony. Lots of reporting here. A 51-year-old Bakersfield man was killed along Highway 99 Wednesday evening when his car drifted off the road and overturned in the median. The name of the man was not immediately released by the California Highway Patrol. The wreck took place around 5:30 p.m. south of Sandrini road, while the man was heading north. A Bakersfield motorcycle rider was clinging to life Wednesday afternoon after he slammed into the back of a stopped vehicle at 60 mph and caught on fire, police said. A 56-year-old Los Angles man swerved into the path of a semi-truck early Thursday morning on Highway 46 where the man was killed, the California Highway Patrol reported. Thomas William Corell was driving a 2008 BMW 550i at 2:05 a.m. when for unknown reasons he went from the westbound land into the eastbound lane and collided head on with a tractor-trailer rig, officers said.   On 6-30-09 at 10:45PM, Jackie Armendariz 43, of Bakersfield, was walking in the 2300 Blk of River Blvd. in East Bakersfield.  Armendariz was confronted by a subject who punched her in the face and stole her purse.  The suspect was described as a Black Male 30, 6', medium build, wearing a dark colored hoody sweatshirt. Armendariz received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.  Investigation is on-going.
