We've had two multiple fatal crashes on Highway 46 in the last six days. Both times we noted that the highway has been called Blood Alley. While that is true, I so agree with CHP Lt. Doyle Green who said, "There is nothing wrong with this road. They like to call it Blood Alley, but I don't call it Blood Alley. Accidents happen anywhere where people don't drive appropriately." A child abduction suspect from Merced was spotted early Friday morning on Highway 99 in Kern County where he was chased by California Highway Patrol officers, the CHP reported. The suspect, 24-year-old Yeng Vang, tried to speed away, but he clost control of his car, hit a center divider, crossed back onto the freeway and hit a truck and then came to a stop by the center divider, officers said. Wasco, CA - Thursday October 1, 2009, at approximately 1:58 A.M. Kern County Fire received a call for large containers on fire at Vintage Nurseries on Mc Combs Rd. 15 Firefighters responded to the incident from Wasco, McFarland, and Shafter. On arrival, crews were faced with an area of approximately 50 feet by 100 feet of burning material with a nursery and tractor exposed to the fire. Crews quickly pulled hose lines between the burning materials and the exposure to prevent further loss....
