Judge: Brothers deserves to die
Kern County Superior Court Judge Michael Bush sentenced convicted murderer Vincent Brothers to death Thursday.
Brothers has an automatic appeal under California law. Brothers, a former vice principal, was convicted May 15 after a three-month trial of killing his wife, Joanie Harper; their three children, Marques, Lyndsey and Marshall; and Joanie Harper’s mother, Earnestine. The same jury voted May 29 that Brothers should be sentenced to death. Bush made an independent assessment of the case and decided Vincent Brothers deserved to die. The judge also denied a defense motion for a new trial. Bush ordered that Brothers be transferred to San Quentin State Prison within 10 days. "You shall suffer the death penalty at San Quentin," Bush said, adding that the warden at the prison is to hold Brothers during the appeal process. 4 comments from 4 users

It is going to be a long time before Borthers gets to be put to death. I have been following the trial and the way the Judge handled the case and the Brothers defense does have a very good chance of getting the case overturned. Kern County has a bad reputation when it comes to the courts. There are more cases that are overturned from Kern County than any other county becasue of all the mistakes that are made by the court system.

Now Mike Bush has something in common with Brothers; they both need God's forgiveness. I met Mike 21 years ago at an OLPH Parish Festival. He was apparently there for the food and not the Roman Catholic Canon Law.

Timec, YOu continue to amaze. All you see is lying and cheating. YOu don't see the lying as part of a coverup, to establish a false alibi. You dismiss the witnesses who saw Brothers in Bakersifeld at the time of the murder, and you dismiss the fact that outside of those witnesses who saw him in Bakersfield, he had no one who corroberated his his whereabouts for three days, including his own brother Troy, whom Vincent said was with him. If I ever committ a crime, Timec, I'd want you on my jury. posted by
