Go Chico Go.  We have a great system that ususally works just fine without interference from anti-authority folks.  Heck even the paintiff attornies like it.  I too am tired of a lot of folks getting a bit of info then assume that police are wrong again.

Couldn't agree more Chico.  I also, am sick and tired of people jumping to conculsions before all the facts are in. 

Getting so bad who will want the job Chico. Then what will all the bleeding hearts do when they have to protect themselves from the barbarians overrunning America?

These blogs are nothing but opinion; not too many people care about the facts, so why be upset by that?

It looks like they pulled the driver and passengers out (after a pursuit) and started beating the crap out of them. One officer left one beating and started in on another!

It's excessive and to try to say it's okay, because they may have done (fill in the blank), is just absurd. It is not okay to drag people out of a vehicle and immediately commence to beat them down. The police should get them out, get them secured and it's over. If they resist, yes go ahead and get your issue, but when the bad guy stops, the good guys have to stop too.

You can't have it both ways, saying for instance, BPD cops went too far with Leon and then say these yahoos in PA were good.

Well thankfully public opinion means nothing. These guys should get their day in court, so to speak. My money is on some heads rolling. That's not rushing to judgement, that's just an opinion, which in the end, has no bearing on the outcome.

Funny how it seems to be the same people who recently complained about people who are passing judgement on Rev. Wright and his disciple, Barack Obama, because of "30 second soundbites" supposedly taken out of context are now ready to convict these cops of crimes against humanity.  The biggest mistake the officers made was to not walk up to the car, suspect the occupants of reaching for a weapon, and shoot them all dead.

Not only is this indicative of missing my entire point, it is an articulation of the blatantly obvious from someone in a lazy-boy generalling a sitrep he knows less than nothing about.

Obviously cops are supposed to stop when the suspect has been "neutralized". Just as obviously cops are not supposed to  "just pull people out of cars and start beating them". (gee, I thought that was OK)  Sheesh! Is the sun going to rise in the East and set in the West today? Why not instruct all of us on that one? Pedanticiscm be thy name!

But you ever hooked someone up and they still are able to kick you, spit in your face, etc.? I didn't think so. You look at a few seconds of video and think you know the real dope. Nope. But dope is operative term here........... If the [edit.]...........

I have three in laws who are police officers. Every working day is an exercise of restraint for them. It is demoralizing when the good guys have a breakdown of discipline, we expect them to be above over reaction.  I don't think I'd last 30 minutes on the street as a cop. Just too many jerks out there for my temperament.

Bottom line after all is said, I'd rather take my chances with a cop in a bad mood than an armed gang-banger looking for prey.

timec, as long as the ranks of LE are made up of humans, there will always be instances of someone doing something they are not supposed to do.

Just as as long as there are young black men, there will always be young criminal gang members.

You take an oath when you become a cop. If you know you could never be a good cop ...DON'T JOIN THE FORCE. I know if I were a cop I would beat the crap out of some smart ass. That is why I became a PSOG....I sit behind a desk and blog. I really do appreciate the good cops on the force. I think it is remarkable to put their life on the line to keep my family safe...I just can't stand the cocky ones and the ones that go around thinking they are Barney Bad Ass.

The cops need to exercise better judgement.  Starting with when to use their guns.  I'm with drilnliftcrude as this could have ended well before it started.    Funny how the bad guys always need to be protected from the cops.  A few sound bites and video snippets can make anything look bad.  How many of us have been dragged from our cars and beaten for doing nothing wrong?  Never happened to me in 40 years time.  If it had I'd buy a clue that I had crossed the line somewhere and I probably deserved what I got.  Its called accountability!

You must be white....You guys are in denial about cops. Cops are more likely to use force on blacks than whites. Please tell me the last time you heard of a cop beating a white man for no reason....It very seldom happens to you guys.....

I am not wishy washy...When I say cops are crooks does not mean I feel they ALL are. I am not stupid. I was just making a general statement. I know that there are good cops ..hell I am related to a good cop.

Well if it turns out that these guys were simply suspects, and it comes out that they were not breaking the law in anyway (I don't know the specifics) then I think all of us hope the officers are prosecuted....right???

They did not do anything wrong. The only thing they were guilty of was DWB. The cops have changed their story and are now saying a fourth person fired shots and ran.....b/s. There is no sign of a gun or a fourth person and they damn sure wouldn't have let this alleged shooter get away.......crazy!

Well, Dril, for one thing they don't shoot the wrong guy 50 times...

So Random, you got say 3 or 4 officers trained on a suspect and he pulls what even appears to be a gun and they do as trained. Unload on him until threat is neutralized.

So you may have anywhere from 42 to 56 rounds expended if they have to go through magazine, or even if you had 10 officers trained on him and each one goes through just  5 to neutralize threat. It happens in an instant. That's their training. Still think its excessive? I guess you weren't there. I wasn't either but  each case has its own mitigating circumstances.....You can't just go by no. of rounds fired. There are always extenuating circumstances.

Thats why you have Shooting Review Board's.

Yep, lets just assume the cops are guilty. Guilty until proven innocent (impossible to do with some of the public of course) thats the ticket. Especially if they belong to certain ethnic groupings.......

The only part of the video you see is that they've already got the perps out on the ground.  You don't know if the guys in the car were giving them attitude, flipping off the cops, or what-have-you.  I'm sorry, but the way things are in this world now, I really don't blame the cops for beating the crap out a guy who was just in a shooting incident.  Timec, I don't think you realize what kind of crap a cop has to put up with when you have scum of the earth low-lives out there.

And if it turns out the victims didn't do anything wrong besides being black, I really don't blame the judge for throwing the book at the cops for "assault under color of authority."

Oh really........... Well that may sound good but a guy cuffed up can kick you, even punch you with a double fisted uppercut, etc. Point is, all situations are unique unto themselves when people are involved and there are no absolutes. Just like in war where best laid plans can go to crap after first shot is fired, after first punch is thrown sometimes the obvious becomes illusory and downright unattainable. SOP's are great, but when you're dealing with scumbags that don't want you dealing with them ...... there are just no absolute right or wrongs. Thus Review Boards.

Apparently, these "victims" were seen shooting at people and then running from police.

Who cares what they did before the beating? That is what we have courts for. Let the judge hang them. They came up with the fourth suspect story after the fact. The helicopters captured the beating ...guess what they didn't see.........ding ding ding....... a fourth suspect because there isn't one. Get a grip. They would have never let the fourth suspect get away....and of course the 4th guy had the gun.

The cops involved and their cohorts are keeping mouths shut. So a lot of misinformation is being put out there by the defense atty types hoping to stir up emotions. Its good for their business. So over the next few weeks you're bound to hear most anything about how innocent these poor beating victims are and of course it will be all based on the  "facts".
