Condors must get better goaltending

Maybe there was a bad bounce here, a deflection there or whatever. But in Friday night's 5-2 loss to the Alaska, the difference in goaltending was dramatic.
Alaska rookie Jean-Philippe Lamourex stopped 36 of 38 shots, for a terrific .947 save percentage, and seemed to be frustrating the Bakersfield shooters. At the other end of the ice, Bakersfield goaltender David McKee stopped 31 of 36 shots — a .861 save percentage.
It wasn't that many years ago that a .900 save percentage was pretty good. But goaltenders keep raising the bar and only three of the top 20 goaltenders in the ECHL as of Friday (ranked by goals-against average) had save percentages of under .908.
Four Bakersfield goaltenders have a combined .897 save percentage this season.
That, plain and simple, is not near good enough.

Quit possibly the understatement of the century.  I think hell just might freeze over before we see decent goal tending in Bakersfield.  I'ts been literally ten years and we haven't seen a goalie capable of carrying us into the post season.  The closest we came was Ryan Munce, who unfortunately was more interested with a certain person in the stands then actually playing the game.  I wonder what Andy Kehe would have to say about this season if he were still here?  Andy, are you out there?

Was it a man or woman in the stands Munce was interested in?

The Mr. T starter kit wasn't a dead give away?

Goaltending, lackluster passing, half-hearted shooting, horrible power play scoring, and a league-leading record so far this season of allowing short-handed goals.

Their problems don't begin or end at goaltending. This rot is starting at the head.

Damn straight Mattloch. For once I agree with you.  Condors haven't won a game during the entire Obama administration..  As you say, the rot is starting at the head.  Time to impeach Obama......LOL.

And to think I have to attend tonights game...Does this blog work on a Blackberry??

What I find interesting is that we were promised a much better team this year because of our affiliation with the Ducks. Well, with so many call-ups we've had to rely on the old method of bringing in cast-offs and free agents. Other teams have affiliations but don't seem to have a problem keeping at least a few decent players. I agree about the goaltending but there are so many other things wrong. Maybe it's time to seriously evaluate the coach's role in this disintegration? How does Raymond seem to get a free pass through all of this? Not just a free pass, but a contract extension as well? Maybe someone closely associated to the Condors can answer this question for me.

As far as the affiliations go, when your sent 8 guys and four of them cant play worth a damn and you had to release guys you wanted to keep in training camp for those terrible 4, that doesn't help things much.

I have been saying this for years and nobody seems to be catching on, except maybe Matloch.  Although he isn't looking high enough nor at the right head.  So here's a question for you all....Why would an organization want to change anything on the ice when they are darlings in the community for their charity work and can bring in 6,000 fans a night to watch a losing team and still make a profit?
