Maybe there was a bad bounce here, a deflection there or whatever. But in Friday night's 5-2 loss to the Alaska, the difference in goaltending was dramatic.
Alaska rookie Jean-Philippe Lamourex stopped 36 of 38 shots, for a terrific .947 save percentage, and seemed to be frustrating the Bakersfield shooters. At the other end of the ice, Bakersfield goaltender David McKee stopped 31 of 36 shots — a .861 save percentage.
